MES supports Cottam Brookes at Pyestock
It’s been a pleasure to support Cottam Brookes, a fellow Aerospace Wales Forum member, with our scanning equipment and expertise recently. It was possible to digitally capture their last remaining Engine Test Fixture and C130A Engine test cradles at their test and maintenance facility in Pyestock before they move their operation to Gosport.
Our LinkedIn post on the matter has more:
Metrology Engineering Services were pleased to be able to support fellow Aerospace Wales Forum Ltd member Cottam Brookes with our Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence AT960-LR, T-Probe, AS1 and AS1 XL scanner onsite at StandardAero at the Pyestock facility.
We would like to thank Adrian Bowles and his team for a very warm welcome during a very busy week. It was a real honour and a pleasure to be able to work within the very last National Gas Turbine Establishment (NGTE) test facility at the Pyestock site.
This test and maintenance facility (the last still standing onsite) is finally closing to make way for housing development and we were asked to capture the last Engine Test Fixture in use in the Shaft Test Cell as well as capturing the C-130A Hercules T56 Engine cradles. The Pyestock facility will finally close, with the operation moving to Standard Aero site in Gosport.
