A flying start to the Paris Airshow!

It’s been a successful start to the Salon du Bourget, with plenty of interested visitors and a busy reception at the Welsh Government stand!

Here’s what CEO Steve Beasley had to say about the events so far:

Amazing to be back at the International Paris Air Show and exhibiting for the very first time as Metrology Engineering Services with our very own booth! Amazing day 1 on stand with the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and Industry Wales Trade & Invest Wales and Aerospace Wales Forum Ltd . A very proud moment to talk about our laser scanning, reverse engineering, aircraft damage assessment and technical services capability and to meet our esteemed customers in an informal setting....A massive thank you to Team Wales for the support! Great to get a visit from the Minister for Economy to talk through our journey

The Welsh Government has also published a press release about proceedings on the Wales stand, which you can find at https://www.gov.wales/wales-flying-high-paris-air-show. Economy Minister Vaughan Gething has also paid the stand a visit! Here are his thoughts.

The aerospace sector plays a major role in the Welsh economy, employing tens of thousands of people across the country. From the wings manufactured by Airbus in north Wales and Thales and Safran’s high-tech innovations in south Wales, I’m very proud that our aerospace companies are leading players in their fields.

Wales’ presence at the Paris Air Show this week allows us to showcase our industry to a global audience. My message to that audience is clear, Wales is a great place to invest, and that the Welsh Government is a stable government and a trusted partner for businesses who want to make their future part of Wales’ future.

I’m very much looking forward to meeting industry representatives and to do all we can to promote Wales and our considerable strengths and talent to the world.

We’ll continue to be available at stand G155 in hall 2 for the next few days, so be sure to pay us a visit.
