MES modernising the world of aircraft inspection thanks to revolutionary scanning solutions.

When an aircraft requires assessment including Non-Destructive Testing [NDT], especially following hailstorm damage, usually a team of engineers will utilise one of two methods; either the traditional manual method using dent measurement tools with a notepad and pen, or more recently, handheld small surface area digital scanners.

With the surface area of an average sized narrow-bodied aircraft, for example an Airbus A320, being approximately 488m2 – utilising these traditional methods or a small digital scanner alone is not the most time or cost-efficient way to capture the data.

These methods remain laborious when compared to MES’ whole asset approach – which provides a complete service solution on a 24/7 AOG basis utilising a range of best-in-class equipment.

Take the recent hailstorm in Calgary, Canada for example, that impacted 10% of WestJet’s fleet. As their President & group Chief Operating Officer, Diederik Pen said, their aircraft suffered “significant hail damage” in the storm and now require “substantial repairs and inspections before returning to service.”

MES’ experienced and knowledgeable technical team frequently support aircraft inspection for flight operation and continued air worthiness, as well as advising on the repair and reuse of components over the installation of new ones, recently helping to save one of our customers around $20m in the process.

We make visibility and communication our number one priorities and understand the importance of efficiency and reacting swiftly to natural or accidental damage incidents. Providing a comprehensive suite of technical and reporting services to ensure solutions can be in place in days, not months.

Our services and expertise support MROs with skill gaps, expedite data capture and report delivery times.  Using our knowledge and understanding our goal is to produce right first-time data for all stakeholders to ensure rapid approval turnaround times from OEMs, getting aircraft back into service sooner and safer.

We succeed thanks to a formula that focuses on project ownership, OEM interaction and accurate and transparent data capture.

MES does not just provide the scanning equipment and leave your engineers to it; we provide a whole service solution both on-site with the aircraft and off-site back at our HQ ensuring data is captured and processed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
